A project of dividing the Lahore city into four parts is under consideration of the district administration and a complete report has recently been submitted by the Commissioner Lahore. According to sources, the committee meant for this purpose would follow the model of Karachi city to distribute Lahore administratively to manage the rising pressure on the city with every passing day.

Under the plan, they said, the city would be divided in four districts and nine tehsils with four DC, four DPOs and nine assistant commissioners. Sources said a team had recently visited Karachi city to study its administrative distribution. A briefing was organised by the delegation for the Commissioner of Lahore division. He handed over details of distribution of Karachi into six districts to the Judicial Reforms Committee under Shahid Hamid for further proceedings.
